I know Azela isn’t actually the Emperor’s daughter, but he doesn’t know that at this point. On top of not considering Shushu’s feelings, he’s not considering Azela’s either. Forget that she’s awful, this child’s whole world just came crashing down around her. She not only saw her “father” jump to save another child’s life instead of hers in a crisis, but she’s been publicly humiliated & has now lost her status as the first imperial princess. She’s as wicked as her mother, but she’s still a child.

i understand the emperor’s pov but what the child wants is also important, specially since he has proved unable to protect her from his current wife before and now, taking her back is sentencing her to death
