I like enchantments/charm/mind-control as a concept before I started to read OI. But now, i kinda hate it.
Instead of it being used as a plot device to show the helplessness of a situation, or giving someone non-physical pain, it is being used as a plot device to avoid a character taking responsibility for their actions so that the reader could forgive them. Its feel cheap and often done extremely lazily.
