you all discussing the obvious. during all these episodes there are too much of poor writing. There are many things that are off through the whole manhwa. MC was strong till the age of them, in 1 year he was able to build 2 mana circles by himself, then 4 years passed and he couldn’t improve anymore. still weak. Most stuff he either loses or fix by talking. He isn’t even a mage.
The only person who can protect his mother and his friends is his sister. So the best thing he can do is to go under her wings, be one of her people and get protected by her.
The reason he would die at the age of 17 was becaus of Cassin. Now the reason is somethiing else.

just like @asterix said Ludia is a very single minded girl, she was sooo pissed when mc told black haired sword mc that he has no friends, Her village was burnt (its illusion still) and her dad dead, who she loved sooo dearly still she lacks emotion, when ludia arm was cut off, mmc had some emotion.
