You didn’t do something pointless, Deso. You WERE literally a child, so trying to gain affection from your adults in you family was natural as affection is one of the most basic emotional needs, especially on early stage of human’s life. If you’re now questioning why you did that, that’s because you are basically an adult and have experienced shits. Anyway, the most guilty party here is actually your father. Nothing can change the fact that, whatever the reasons were, he abandoned you.
