I hate how he uses neglect as a way of “protecting” them, he had the power to kick that hag out, so certainly he has power to keep other nobles in check. Heck, if he was nice and showed some kindness (not so much he’s gullible tho) he would gain more allies. Like saving his son or a soldier on the battlefield, other nobles would be like damn that’s wholesome he isn’t Satan, after all!
