Ok, sorry but, I gotta say it; I don’t think a fountain/dip pen nib could be made out of wood–ANY kind of wood. Well I can see how it might be done, but you’d be writing in, like, size 36 font Bold–a waste of ink, and more importantly a huge waste of PAPER, which was an expensive commodity back in the day. I’m pretty sure there has been paper rationing at different points in history.
Even the one example I found online that looked to be made of wood turned out to be the wrong end of the pen.
