I might relate to a character ark like this if I didn’t know that in the original time-line he ends up with someone else , so basically once he finds someone who gives that same attention and devotion he has no problem cutting her out he doesn’t how it hurt her , him releasing now how he hurt only because he doesn’t have happiness in his life but if he was with someone else he would be relieved that she moved on or he actually he would still enjoy the attention she gives although he is married to someone else , the truth is he doesn’t really love her he is just possessive and he pity her non of the flashbacks and his thoughts show actual love .
