I commented about this event a few chapters ago and thought I would not mind if they altered the delivery a bit but this is way off from the book especially in term of character building. I would not like to compare the portrayal but I just want to say that while the manhwa has it own charm I the novel Belze was quite competent, even as a child. She was not a total damsel in distress that needs to be saved. Just like how in the novel, Belze actually fought against seven even if it is pointless due to the physical difference. The Edwin here showed how much he cared about Belze sweetly but in the novel, it showed how much responsibility comes with being a heir of the dukedom. He also cares about Belze but I you could empathise with him more when he showed the extend he would go through inorder to protect her while having the attitude of an heir. I also liked the dynamic they developed with the Duke and Edwin during this scene in the novel. I think it’s really unfortunate how different the portrayal of events is from the novel but I guess it is understandable. I would not choose which is better tho since they are building the characters differently from each other(the manhwa and the novel)
