The thing I’m annoyed about is how quickly the prince did a 180. In the beginning, Rose was reprehensible to him, he wanted to call off the engagement to the point where the Isekai girl agreed to it. Then they discovered the heat, and it’s like the prince’s distaste of Rose disappeared instantly. I wanted more negative tension, I wanted to see the prince fight between his hatred of the woman who acted like a villain and his attraction to her through the heat, only to slowly discover Rose is not who he thought she was. And for the isekai’d Rose to battle with a pre-established tyrannical reputation, attraction to the prince, but ultimately trying to find a way to live life away from the spotlight like she wanted, to avoid a tragic end. But literally the only tension is their holding back feelings. That’s literally it, not even miscommunication; no warring feelings, no tension of dealing with poor reputations, there’s not even a hint of misconstrued feelings involving Iris. Just a really bad farse, willing obtuseness, and hidden feelings. The story setup did not deliver what was promised.
