Wait What
OK, I can’t like this story, and here’s why:
It’s like even Lynn has forgotten about Ms. Rianna.
The woman who all but adopted her, and the baby.
Who died trying to help Lynn escape a threat that Martin couldn’t be bothered to tell her wasn’t in fact there anymore.
It’s odd, but I can forgive the actions of a spoiled sheltered brat better than the fecklessness of one that was starting to see how uncertain the real world is and still couldn’t fathom *telling the girl that she could afford to stop running for her life*.
The cost of that fecklessness was all that carefree peace Martin imagined Lynn had, NOT TO MENTION MS. RIANNA’s WHOLE LIFE. That really, really ought to be a piece of Lynn’s anger, and it’s not, and that’s really poor writing.
Lynn’s kind. She feels for other people, often more than she feels for herself. Does it make any sense that she doesn’t mourn Rianna from time to time?
Unless Rianna gets adoptive grandma status and a headstone at the Ereuputh estate, nothing can redeem the thoughtlessness of the author in this matter.
